Horrible Bosses

Horrible Bosses is a black comedy movie directed by the famous Seth Gordon from 2011. It has been written by John Francis Daley, Jonathan Goldstein and Michael Markowitz. It is based on an intense story by Michael Markowitz. Starring in this movie are Kevin Spacey, Jamie Foxx, Charlie Day, Jason Bateman, Jason Sudeikis, Jennifer Aniston and Colin Farrell. The story is about three friends Nick, played by Bateman, Dale, played by Day and Kurt, played by Sudeikis who decide that they have to kill their abusive and overbearing bosses. The roles are enacted by Kevin Spacey, Colin Farrell and Jennifer Aniston.

In the year 2005, New Line Cinema bought the plot of the movie Horrible Bosses from Markowitz and the movie was in various states of pre-production for six years. The script of the movie was rewritten and finalized in the year 2010 and the movie finally went into production. The premiere of the film was held in Los Angeles on 30th of June 2011 and was released widely on the 8th of July 2011. The film went on to receive and extravagant response on release and was way above financial expectations. It accrued more than $28 million itself in the opening three days and made itself the second film in the U.S during its opening weekend. Horrible Bosses went on to become the highest grossing, in unadjusted dollars, black comedy film of all time. The previous record was set by the film The War of the Roses in 1990. Worldwide, it made more than $209 million. It received mixed reactions in terms of criticism with critics praising the makers for the collection of cast with each actor presenting a standout performance. The story however was stated to be funny by some and dark by a few. Many rumors are that the movie has been stated to be misogynistic, racist and homophobic.

The plot of Horrible Bosses revolves around three friends Nick, Dale and Kurt. Nick and Dale despise their bosses. Nick works for a financial firm under Dave (Kevin Spacey) who is an emotionally abusive boss. He promises to promote Nick but eventually awards himself with it. Dale works as a dental assistant who is being sexually harassed by his superior, Dr. Julia (Jennifer Aniston). She threatens to tell Dale’s fiancé that he had sex with Julia unless he actually has sex with her. Nick and Dale’s friend Kurt enjoyed working in his firm until his boss died and it was taken over by his boss’s cocaine addicted son Bobby. Thus when it becomes difficult for them to survive with their Horrible Bosses, Kurt comes up with the plan to kill their bosses and put an end to their misery. It started as a proposition by a drunken Kurt. Everyone was hesitant initially but agreed to go ahead with the plan. To succeed in their motive they tried hiring a hitman. Thus they met Jones (Jamie Foxx) who being an ex-con, agrees to become their consultant for homicide. Thus begins a story of these three friends to set themselves free from the clutches of their abusive bosses and commit perfect crime of murder.
